چکیده

Magnetically impelled arc butt (MIAB) welding is a solid-state technique of that utilizes the heating effect high-speed rotating for formation weld. The process exhibits lower time and power consumption compared to conventional processes tube–tube joining. However, available research reports on MIAB Mild Steel (MS)1018 are still inadequate lack details required extending applications this process. Hence, study was undertaken investigate MS 1018 tubes. Experimental investigations were performed specifically designed newly fabricated machine. experimental trials involved varying parameters understanding their influence joint strength other weld characteristics. Microstructure consisted acicular ferrite which differed from microstructure heat-affected zone. These helped arrive at optimum parametric window specified ranges key viz. current, upset yield an efficient Chemical analysis indicated absence inter-metallics. MS1018 showed greater integrity when maintained, feasible deployment as economizer coils in boilers, pressure part tubes, automobile tubular component joining applications.

Optimization of the parameters of low-carbon steel (EN10130) welding using friction stir welding method

Friction-stir welding process is a novel method of solid state welding, which produces heat due to friction between the pin, the shoulder and the workpiece. This heat causes a paste area. Shoulder pressure and pin spin cause edges integration and lead to welding. In this study, firstly, the feasibility of welding of steel sheet (EN10130) with a thickness of 1.5mm has been tested by 58 experim...

Residual Stress and Deformation Analysis in Butt Welding on 6 mm SUS304 Steel with Jig Constraints Using Gas Metal Arc Welding

This article proposes a novel method for analyzing residual stress and deformation in butt welding on 6 mm SUS304 stainless steel plates, using MSC.MARC, a commercial finite element method software, to find the best location for jig fixtures that will minimize welding deformation. Simulation and experimental studies show that a distance of 100 mm between the jig center and the welding bead cent...
